Self Love and Connection Rituals: 5 of my favorites for feminine healing fridays
Friday is my self love day โจ
It used to be another day I spent trying to control everything around me, feeling stuck in a whirlwind of responsibilities and obligations, looking forward to the weekend but knowing it would just bring more things I had to get done.
Thankfully, a lotttt has changed for me in the way I honor myself.

Each day of the week has a different planet guiding our feels. Since Friday brings big Venus energy, weโre naturally inclined to soften into love, beauty, relationships, and desire.
We can lean into this energy by focusing on nurturing connections with the people we love, creating space to let our desires come out to play, and treating ourselves to a self love ritual!
1. Connecting more deeply with someone I love
I know, I know. I said โSelf-Loveโ then told you to spend time with someone else. Hear me out, babe.
Aside from the simple joy of spending time with someone I love, Iโve found that I learn to love myself by loving others. As women, weโre taught to love others before ourselves from childhood, neglecting our own needs to ensure everyone around us has what they need- Rainbow Fish style. Because this is how Iโve learned to love, when I soak in the humanity of looking into someone eyes, following their emotions, and holding their hand through whatever it is they are experiencing, I am able to translate that appreciation for someoneโs unique beauty into admiration for my own individual wonder. For me personally, itโs a big deal to be able to give that support, validation, and connection to the people I love and to myself.
I like to practice this by spending a little extra time connecting with my kids and letting them lead the way during play. Today, I asked Liz before school what she wanted to do tonight. Weโll be playing statues and hide and seek. By letting her guide the play, Iโm also creating a space to let her desires reveal themselves. Playing is such a powerful tool for self-expression, and I love experiencing that with my kids.
2. Journaling about the life of my dreams
Writing is so powerful. Of all the practices Iโve implemented, Iโd say journaling probably the most cleansing and aligning method for connecting with my authenticity. Itโs great for connecting with my true desires so I can align my thoughts, decisions, and actions with the person Iโm becoming.
Tonight, Iโll put on some feminine frequency music, light a candle, and write a letter to myself from year-from-now Michaela in all of her fierce and gentle wisdom. 3. Making my favorite meal an experience
We have to eat- why not make it a more nurturing and loving experience? In the same way a romance movie has the partner making a beautiful dinner to enjoy with dim candlelight and deep conversation, I love making myself a meal that is truly food-pic-worthy to savor under candlelight. I deserve to eat fucking delicious food that I love and soak in the beauty of an experience that I created simply to nurture and love on myself.
If my partner did this for me, Iโd melt with adoration for how well they care for me, not only knowing my favorite meal but putting in the time and energy to cook it, set the vibe, and enjoy the experience with me. And if I were to do it for them, I would love drink in the light in their eyes from being so seen, known, and loved. How beautiful is it that we can give ourselves those same warm and fuzzy feelings by playing out both sides of the experience?
4. Sensual dance and somatic movements
This is a big one for me because it brings me back to my body when Iโm feeling too stuck in my mind- dissociating enough to forget I even have a body as my mind races with anxious thoughts and beliefs that arenโt even mind. Especially for neurodivergent babes like me, coming back into our bodies, where we hold all that stagnant emotional energy from unprocessed trauma is incredibly powerful. I like to put on a song that I vibe with and let it flow through my body. Sometimes, thatโs a slow song with swaying and self love hugs for tender comforting. Other times, itโs more upbeat, allowing me to practice shaking to release that repressed trauma in my hips and shoulders. Follow your heart and your needs will be provided for, promise. โก
5. Home boudoir as a sensual embodiment practice for feminine healing
My absolute favorite. Boudoir is meant to be a sacred practice for connecting with and embodying the sensual self. Taking boudoir photos at home is, admittedly, an intimidating process, but itโs so incredibly healing. Weโre able to express our emotions and desires and act out the transformation, then see the tangible evidence of โoh shit, this is me- I actually am powerful, sensual, capable and endlessly worthy.โ
